I've had Omnath for a while now and originally built to be a big stompy creature deck. Imagine having both hands on two different types of keyboards. One hand wanted to do big stompy boys and the other wanted to show that even with the restrictions of only having one color at my disposal I could push the deck close to cedh. Maybe it could be, but in this situation, I like where the deck is currently. I've won around turn 5 pretty easily after a few upgrades and making it more competitive. Combos will be listed down below and if you guys have any questions or recommendations, please leave them!
The tutors in the deck help look for the pieces you need to go infinite. Tutors such as Tooth and Nail, Green Sun's Zenith, Finale of Devastation, Natural Order, Chord of Calling, Summoner's Pact, Shared Summons, and Defense of the Heart allow you to tutor for two main pieces. You're going to be looking for Ashaya, Soul of the Wild and Magus of the Candelabra. Asyaya will allow you to turn Magus into a Land, which will give him the ability to untap himself. So having a land or creature that taps for more than one mana allows you to go infinite. For instance, Ashaya, Soul of the Wild and Magus of the Candelabra being out with a creature like Circle of Dreams Druid, Llanowar Tribe, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, or Karametra's Acolyte will allow you to untap magus and any of these creatures infinitely. Or if you want to attach a card like Wild Growth to a land you can get infinite doing the exact same thing but it's a lot easier with Virtue of Strength or Nyxbloom Ancient being out. If you manage to draw into Umbral Mantle and a creature is taping for more than three mana you go infinite. Any creature tapping for two or three mana then having Umbral Mantle equipped with Virtue of Strength or Nyxbloom Ancient being out is also infinite mana.
The big question is, "What do I use all this infinite green mana for?". So the more fun outlets are Kamahl, Fist of Krosa and Nylea, God of the Hunt Out of the Kamahl is probably the easiest because of his ability to turn lands into creatures and then make them huge. Especially, if you are limited with creatures that can swing. Having the land turn into a creature allows you to swing out at more opponents. Just don't turn the one that just came out into a creature. It will still have summoning sickness, unless you can manage to squeeze in Concordant Crossroads on your list. Another fun outlet is the Helix Pinnacle. It's like a last-ditch effort win or it's bait removal. Don't be afraid to play it!
Now we have our protection pieces. Allosaurus Shepherd is absolutely huge in this deck because it protects all green spells. Prowling Serpopard is also big in this deck and helps protect your creature spells but will get cut for Destiny Spinner when I get my hands on one. Some of your other huge protection cards are Lightning Greaves, Commander's Plate, Swiftfoot Boots, Heroic Intervention, and Tamiyo's Safekeeping. Bear Umbra acts as a ramp and protection piece for Omnath!
There's obviously interaction in the deck, but it's not the best because of the color we're in. The biggest thing is... don't be afraid to swing Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre or Kozilek, Butcher of Truth. Annihilator sucks, but when Omnath allows you to float mana don't be afraid to put both Kozilek or Ulamog out. They could effectively take people out of the game with annihilator.
Using Omnath's ability to float mana will make him huge. Use his power to draw cards. I won't mention all of them but cards like Rishkar's Expertise, Soul's Majesty, Return of the Wildspeaker, and even Hunter's Insight will allow you to draw a lot. Hunters Insight may be on the chopping block for other cards though. Another way to draw is to just sacrifice Omnath to cards like Greater Good, Life's Legacy, and Momentous Fall. You should have a ton of mana to just replay Omnath!
Hope you guys like the deck and if you do, leave an Upvote!
