Legacy Flicker

So i discovered this card Containment Priest in the new Commander product.

While on its own its a very weak body which dies to almost everything, it has become a stapled sideboard card against any deck which try to cheat in creatures ,foremost Show and Tell and Reanimate decks. While completely negating those deck if it stays alive it can provide some interesting removal choices as it makes Flicker effects exile the creatures for good. In Legacy, creatures aren't as a big of a deal as to for example modern, but if there are a Batterskulled Stoneforge Mystic running around you'd want to exile it. For good.

One strategy would be using Astral Slide, however i feel that would be more of a Modern strategy so I went for a control shell which locks out the opponent while protecting your core Containment Priest. Equip Sword of Feast and Famine and swing in, keeping up counter mana for opponents next turn (if they are still alive).

The hardest lock in Legacy in my own opinion is Counterbalance + Sensei's Divining Top , which lets us go for a Miracle-ish style of game play by utilizing Ponder, Brainstorm, Fetchlands and Jace, the Mind Sculptor. Jace is also in there to keep the mana curve to 1-6 so we can have the lock for pretty much every popular legacy deck out there.

Our flicker effects range from the instant Otherworldly Journey to Flickerwisp and one copy the acctuall Flicker just for flavor. Journey costs 2 but is a instant as opposed to flicker and Flickerwisp provides a 3/1 flier to equip sword to.

I put Terminus in the deck because it is the cheapest and most effective wrath effect miracle has to offer, as it can remove another players True-Name Nemesis, among others. It combos nicely with Otherworldly Journey as it can be used to save your own Nemesis or Priest before you terminus, returning them at end of turn with a counter on it as a bonus.

Entreat the Angels works good in this deck since its a miracle card and produces tokens which is unaffected by our priest. 4/4 fliers are always a good win condition.

Since we are running Sword and Batterskull it would make sense to use Stoneforge Mystic. It provides an early clock and an alternate way to play the deck for game 2.

As is, the deck is very controlling and midrange by locking out your opponent and finish with Containment Priest + Sword of Feast and Famine or Batterskull + Entreat the Angels .
