This is a Mono-Black Death's Shadow list.
Many of you already know this, but it is meant to take advantage of your own life loss to power up Death's Shadow.
Due to the presence of Swords to Plowshares Death's Shadow decks face a hard time.
But this deck intends to counter that with a ton of dicard (only the best) followed up by a Surgical Extraction. This way you can secure the Death's Shadow presence.
Surgical Extraction is also in the main to face off against graveyard decks like the powerhouse Reanimator.
Our own Lifeloss efects are Sign in Blood, Castle Locthwain, Snuff Out, Dismember, Infernal Grasp, Feed the Swarm, Street Wraith, Thoughtseize, Agadeem's Awakening
and 10 fetchlands (2 of each to avoid opposing Surgical Extraction/Extirpate/Pithing Needle.
I like the mono color aspect of it because it means it is cheaper to build since you don't use dual lands. Also you worry less about Blood Moon and Wasteland screwing up your mana base.
In the sideboard there is Toxic Deluge which goes well with the lifeloss strategy.
For a little bit of lifegain there is Cling to Dust in case you face an extra aggro deck.
shocklands
I ended up adding 2 of them just in case the deck needs more life loss. But they aren't there for much else and the deck doesn't intend on using their splash mana in any way. The biggest reason being to keep the land base fairly simple and keep the deck less vulnerable to Blood Moon and Wasteland.
I may end up cutting them in the future again since they do bring some downsides to the mono color strategy.
