Use
Relentless Dead
,
Prized Amalgam
, and
Liliana, Defiant Necromancer
to consistently return creatures from the graveyard. Sacrifice mechanics are great with
Relentless Dead
and he helps you flip
Liliana, Heretical Healer
without having to lose a creature. Use
Bone Splinters
and
Ruinous Path
to send their creatures to the graveyard. Madness a
From Under the Floorboards
to swarm the field and put two counters on Liliana.
Slip Through Space
is honestly only here as a 1 CMC "Draw one card" spell, since making one creature unblockable is almost never going to matter to this deck, though it could be useful with a pumped
Diregraf Colossus
. Speaking of the Colossus, he's rarely ever going to be all that big, since you are going to be getting most of your creatures back from the graveyard too much, but he's a great token generator with
Relentless Dead
and sacrifice cards.
Negate
is meant to help deal with
Declaration in Stone
, other exile effects, and sweepers. If your opponent is running
Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
, hold a destruction spell in hand for him, as his effect really screws this deck over, since you can no longer return anything and you can't flip your planeswalker.
I was planning to run 3x
Ever After
, but in initial testing, there was so much ability to return things from the graveyard that it just didn't ever get cast. No point in an expensive dead draw that pushes you over 60 cards. Not to mention, at best I am breaking even on the cost, since it's 6 mana to return two creatures and I have nothing costing more than three. If I had some more expensive creatures, it might be worth it.
My biggest concern is the lack of madness enablers for
From Under the Floorboards
.
This deck is only in the initial testing phase, and hasn't actually been played against an opponent yet. Hopefully I will get some good testing in at FNM.
