So in making my Niv-Mizzet, Parun deck as strong as I could, I made it to where I can barely play it against other weaker decks. So I turn to the Locust God, who himself was cut from Niv, as a weaker, more fair but still powerful alternative. While having nearly identical strategies (sans their combos of course) are nearly identical, they run very different lists. Locust God runs all the best wheels that are NOT in Niv, to avoid as much overlap as possible. And any cards cut from Niv will almost always have an immediate home in Locust God.
