A Rakdos Discard deck with some Vampires for board presence.
Once I saw Sword of Feast and Famine, I knew that I wanted to build a dedicated deck around it. I decided to fit it into a deck revolving around the Discard mechanic.
Listed below is what I have come up with so far. Any suggestions on how to improve this deck would be super appreciated.
The Discard engine starts with Thoughtseize and Inquisition as Kozilek for the one drop slot. Blightning provides me some solid burn to start depleting my opponents life total and makes them discard two cards. Reforge the Soul is invaluable in this deck as it serves as heavy discard and to replenish both their hand and mine. It only costs two if I cast it for its Miracle cost, which Liliana Vess can help with if need be. Lili also serves for more discard as her +1.
I realize that not only am I going to need an efficient Discard engine, I am also going to need to run some creatures to equip Sword of Feast and Famine to. I decided to go with a couple Vampires. Sangromancer is another card that I knew I wanted to use once I saw it. She has great synergy with the Discard mechanic and will help me stay in the game by keeping my life total up. I am running a full set of Vampire Nighthawk. Deathtouch should prove helpful in taking down big threats, and the Lifelink will further help me stay in the game. Both creatures have Flying, which is nice.
This deck uses a couple Enchantments to take advantage of the cards my opponent will be forced to discard. Liliana's Caress is perfect. It drains two life for every card they lose. A couple of these on the battlefield ain't to shabby. Plus if it's combined with a Reforge the Soul or two, that could be game right there. Waste Not is in here for more Discard synergy. More creatures, more mana, or more cards. All sound good to me.
I've thrown in a few Terminate, and of course a set of Lightning Bolt for some solid Burn and Removal.
Some help with an efficient Sideboard would be awesome.
