Lord Windgrace's Squandered Resources

Commander / EDH

SlanderSalamander

A fun, fairly standard Jund ramp/control deck that seeks survive until able to generate enough mana for a sufficiently large Ribbons or Exsanguinate. However, I'm not a huge fan of super reliable infinite combos, as they can make a deck tedious to play in the long run. To that end, the deck includes ways to generate large, but not necessarily infinite, amounts of mana, through synergies rather than combos. This also has the advantage of, in general, allowing all of your cards to function independently rather than being stuck in your hand, waiting for additional combo pieces.

That said, there is a possible infinite combo here, and it is as follows: with Squandered Resources in play, cast Splendid Reclamation with at least 13 lands in your graveyard. Cast Seasons Past to return Splendid Reclamation to your hand, then Demonic Tutor (or Dark Petition with spell mastery active) for Seasons Past and cast it to return Splendid Reclamation and your tutor effect, allowing you to repeat this process infinitely and, when enough mana has been created, cast the tutor for either Ribbons or Exsanguinate and end the game. This can be backed up with Increasing Ambition from your hand or graveyard to fetch missing pieces, and protected by City of Solitude and Boseiju, Who Shelters All. It's worth noting that you do not need Seasons Past in your hand to start the combo; you simply need one of the tutor effects, since you can return it with the first cast of Seasons Past. You could also cast your life loss spell after the second Splendid Reclamation cast, as you will often have generated upwards of 30 mana at that point.

Alternatively, you can simply control the board and cast Jokulhaups or Obliterate (Pernicious Deed doesn't hit lands but can often be enough as well) with Lord Windgrace in play, then win on the back of his ultimate ability - or, if simply ticking up every turn is not an option, on the back of the advantage generated by his ability to Restore twice a turn. Decree of Annihilation is the most powerful sweeper for this scenario, but I don't like exiling so many resources outright. If you have no such hesitancy, feel free to include it.
