The plan of this deck is to play Lotleth Troll near the beginning, discarding creatures to add +1/+1 counters on him just to protect yourself as you begin. After the beginning and in mid game you play Corpsejack and Varolz. At this point you will have creature cards in your hand to discard into your graveyard to make your Lotleths more powerful, also doubling the +1/+1 counters on him due to Corpsejack. Once the creatures are discarded you may also scavenge them with Varolz, adding more counter to what ever creature you want. The Abrupt Decay and Putrefy is there to remove creatures as you continue your attack. Gaze of Granite is a remove of large quantities of creatures of the opposing player, also adding creatures to your own graveyard to scavenge. I guess Deathrite Shaman is there to just help slowly take the enemy down, and is just a filler I guess.
