Sideboard

Creature (2)

Artifact (2)

Enchantment (1)

This deck is a modified version of a mono blue control deck that I made for Pauper. It didn't work in Pauper, it was too simplistic, didn't have card advantage often enough and couldn't deal with enough threats, so after a while I didn't enjoy playing it. But I still wanted to play most of the cards and I realised it was a good shell for kitchentable Magic.

I took out some cards that that were either OP or not too good. Downgraded a few spells because I needed some of the cards for other decks. Still kept it as a card advantage deck with counterspells, which makes it strong, but beatable. I decided that in this version all the threats will be sea monsters, so the deck got a sea monster subtheme. Kept the playset Tolarian Terror as the main threat and added 1ofs of 8 other sea monsters to make it flavorful. Now I can play some of the cards that fell out of the Pauper version once again.

I kept 10 of the 15 sideboard cards, so this became my first kitchentable deck that has a sideboard. This might be my most annoying kitchentable deck to play against since many players hate counterspells, but I've always loved these kind of decks. The cards in it are all commons except for 2 creatures. It will most likely be one of my stronger decks, but it's beatable. I know this because I was worried that it's too OP for kitchentable but then in it's first game it's opponent was an Elf deck which beat the shit out of it, so I already know it's beatable, therefore it can be a legit part of my kitchentable collection.
