This was made to be an aggressive B/U deck with minimal control elements to utilize creatures that had potential but have generally been cast by the wayside.
Gloom Surgeon and Treacherous-pit dweller come out early, usually with help of a ritual. And go on the offensive. Eventually gloom surgeon will be your main defensive creature. Treacherous pit-dweller has regularly been the win-con with artful dodging.
Dolmen gates are to reduce creature loss and self-mill
Circu, does what he does and (hopefully) reduces opponents options. At very least is a huge target.
Laboratory maniac as an alt win condition if you're getting close to milling out
Misthollow griffins can be played from exile (a side effect of using gloom surgeons) which is useful. Also relevant is evasion and decent damage.
Forbidden Alchemy to search for important cards and reduce deck size. Also helps with flashback lategame and helps with alt win con from laboratory maniac.
Artful Dodge keeps the damage from the treacherous pit-dwellers relevant.and can be recast with cheap flashback, helps with early damage/late game finishers.
Unsummons and vapor snags are to return treacherous pit-dwellers from your opponent back to you to reuse, Can also be used against blockers if opponent isnt playing alot of removal.
Stronghold Overseer is a strong finisher, basically unblockable and can pump or reduce outgoing or incoming damage.
Sway of the stars is a failsafe. I found that if your overseers were taken down (or not played yet) and your opponent has evaded enough of the damage from artful dodging pit-dwellers, by late game this deck ran out of steam and relied too heavily on laboratory maniacs alt win, Added as a way to reset the game when youre losing and hopefully kill them early with your faster creatures.
Found this deck to be weak against faster aggro and blue control decks.
Any thoughts or alterations? I kind of want to keep the core idea of using of strange, unused cards but others can be easily swapped out for better combos.
Thanks,
PURELY CASUAL DECK, Not very competitive.
