Mana, It is a nice thing. And it is quite a challenge to not use it. Some would say that it is not possible to play without any mana. And at that very spot, this deck comes.

Now, if you are not familiar with this kind of a deck, you might be wondering how it actually works. It is pretty simple.

Gameplan:

  • Step 1: Get a dredger into your graveyard. We have 2 ways how to do that!:

a) When we roll who will go first, we always choose to draw. When we draw our 8th card, at the end of our turn we discard one of them and now we are happy.

b) There is Unmask . You play it for its alternative cost and choose yourself, then you discard a card and from now we are happy again.

  • Step 2: Mill ourself. We have here a lot of dredgers and any time we are about to draw, we choose to dredge instead. There is Gitaxian Probe and Street Wraith as additional possibility how to dredge.

  • Step 3: Kill our opponent. We can overrun them with army of zombies or we can kill them on spot with Flayer of the Hatebound and Golgrari Grave-Troll.

Simple, effective and interesting.

Card choices:

T2 win:

We go like this: we choose to draw, at end of our turn we discard Phantasmagorian . At the end of their turn, we just use Phantasmagorian 's ability, discard our dredger, put the return ability on the stack (so that the Phantasmagorian is still on the yard waiting to return to our hand). 4 cards in hand, 4 in the yard.

We than cycle our Street Wraith , dredging instead of drawing, returning the dredger into our hand. Still 4 cards in our hand, 10 in the yard.

Then we use the Phantasmagorian 's effect again discarding everything expect for our second Street Wraith , including our dredger. We finally return the Phantasmagorian into our hand.

Now we cycle the second Street Wraith , again dredging instead of drawing. We dredged 12 cards and discarded almost our entire hand. In the mix of the cars in the yard, there hopefully was some mix of Nether Shadow / Ichorid / Narcomoeba . On our upkeep we return all Nether Shadow + Ichorid from our yard to play we can, then on our draw step we dredge again.

Hopefully we ended with 3+ creatures on the board, have Bridge from Below + Balusrade Spy + Dread Return in our yard. We then reanimate the Spy, milling our whole library.

We had rest of our Narcomoeba s in the yard and every saced Narcomoeba means 4 zombies to play (due to the bridges in our yard). We now can reanimate the Flayer of the Hatebound and Golgrari Grave-Troll and kill our opponent.

Reasons to play this deck:

  • You want to have relatively cheap and quite competitive legacy deck

Reasons to not play this deck:
