I've always wanted a Treefolk, maybe the March of the Ents from The Lord of the Rings is my inspiration. I don't think I've been a good enough brewer/player until recently to be able to brew and play this kind of deck. That being said, it still needs help.
Card by card choices:
Bosk Banneret: It's a useful creature that helps ramp into the real threats. It stops a lot of the agro decks long enough for the deck to stabilize. It does nothing when drawn late, unless you have Doran, the Siege Tower. Considering alternatives.
Dauntless Dourbark
: It does what you think it does... hits the table and squishes Tarmogoyf. This thing gets out of control really fast with Leaf-Crown Elder active.
Deathrite Shaman: Why am I bothering talking about him? Because, Leaf-Crown Elder puts him into play if he's on top. That's why Deathrite Shaman is here over any other ramp creature. Plus, Doran, the Siege Tower makes him a 2/2.
Doran, the Siege Tower: He's a 5/5 for 3 that makes everything in the deck obscene. Bosk Banneret becomes useful again, Treefolk Harbinger is a 3/3, Spellskit is a 4/4 (lol), if he stick through one significant combat, the game usually ends.
Timber Protector: This thing makes every removal but Path to Exile useless on the rest of the He protects against board wipes, makes everything bigger, and gets huge with Doran, the Siege Tower.Abrupt Decay: This is the out to Liliana of the Veil and any other creature/permanent based combo. I don't feel much need to justify it.Path to Exile: Gets rid of whatever creature Abrupt Decay doesn't.Not too attached to the removal sweet, it'll be changed I'm sure.
Murmuring Bosk: It's Fetchable+it fixes. Unfortunately, it shows your opponent you're on Treefolk... Which doesn't mean much other the Doran, the Siege Tower to most people...Gavony Township: When all else fails and you're sitting on 3 Treefolk Harbingers and a Spellskite, Gavony and wreck...
Inquisition of Kozilek and Thoughtseize: Provides information and disruption yeah yeah yeah...I may cut Thoughtseize, the life loss is significant for a midrange/slower deck that has no significant life gain. Hitting the small stuff is usually enough.
The Sideboard is a draft and not worth explaining yet. Suggestions would be great.
