Welcome to Marchesa D'Amatti's Aikido deck. This is a nimble toolbox deck designed to grab and hold the monarch as soon as possible, maintain a nonthreatening pillow fort position, and once our opponents go wide or tall we strike unexpectedly with Backlash, Comeuppance, or Deadly Tempest. Works best with Sunforger online for protection/zaps. The optimal scenario for this deck is to grab the monarch ASAP and hold it and a full hand. Use resources very sparingly!! Team up to get rid of archenemies, and survive to the final 1v1. This is where this deck shines. Try to find Sunforger before this, if you do you get one free instant of your choice per turn. There is removal, protection, damage redirection, you name it. This deck is very strong against token and go-tall strategies, it struggles against mill and storm. In these matchups, focus on removing key pieces before it's too late, or going for a more aggressive win. Either way, beat them before they can beat you. I own this deck on paper but I still often make changes to the list and am open to cool suggestions. Recently, I've been struggling to close out matches quickly, and I'm looking for a few efficient wincons that will work in any scenario, especially if my opponent has a weak board state. Thanks!
