This deck is political and disruptive but it (hopefully) does so in a way that's fun and creates interesting choices around the board. There are three broad classes of card:

1) Generally good control cards (e.g. Swords to Plowshares, Damnation)

2) Battlefield (largely combat) manipulation (e.g. Duelist's Heritage, Master Warcraft)

3) Recursion/ETB engines (e.g. Purgatory, Feldon of the Third Path)

All three of these play extremely well with Marchesa, since she promotes reactive gameplay, doesn't want to take damage, and has an ETB effect herself.
