Sideboard

Synopsis:Abzan-based allies with a dash of red for flavorful Alesha and the surprisingly frightening Resolute Blademaster.

Synergy:1. Deck is built around playing Siege Rhino or any other large killing machine and buffing it with ally effects using collected company before swinging. Test and you'll see what I mean.

  1. Alesha, Who Smiles at Death revives Resolute Blademaster for a blitz 10 or more damage depending on board state or even a Drana, Liberator of Malakir. If you're lucky, you'll get to revive a Liliana, Heretical Healer  ..

  2. Allies is a deck type that really wants there to be a variety of different named creatures to play so you don't end up granting redundant first strikes to creatures instead of giving them all lifelink AND first strike.

  3. Allies are inferior creatures when played alone and are hopelessly walled by creatures such as Deathmist Raptor and Dragonlord Ojutai. By Playing Sidisi, Undead Vizier and Siege Rhino, I have more reliable cards to deal with mid to late game blockers and better creatures to swing with when buffed with ally effects.

  4. Allies can't do it alone without something powerful to buff (yet). I treat them like enchantment creatures with recurring abilities and often get to swing for lethal by turn 6 or my life becomes large enough where my opponent scoops.

  5. The Sideboard is constructed almost entirely for the control matchup as it is the most frightening deck to face but thanks to Foul-Tongue Invocation, Duress, and Evolutionary Leap the matchup is moreso in my favor unless they draw into nothing but heat and nothing I play resolves.
