I used to love using this deck. Definitely the most well-rounded I ever built! Usually won at least 8/10 games, but sadly only saw mostly casual play, not any FNM or other tournament play. Here is the breakdown of the setup:
The obvious card this is built around is
Armament Master
. He was so good and I was never happier to have Kor creatures back in Zendikar (Tempest/Stronghold was too long ago!). Kor Outfitter was a great addition for his free equip ability.
Kor Aeronaut
is nice for this and almost vital due to his kicker.
Kor Duelist
and
Kitesail Apprentice
were nice for the case of no
Armament Master
s in a game (an extreme rarity) but even if he is, double strike and flying are great additions. I used to catch a lot of flack for no other seemingly better creatures (Stoneforge Mystic, for example), but this arrangement I had was pretty good.
Conqueror's Pledge and
Nomads' Assembly
were obvious sorcery for this setup. I once achieved over 5,000 damage due to these cards. That situation I owe being to Journey to Nowhere,
Pacifism
, and Brave the Elements. Still couldn't relieve the weenie from this deck!
The artifacts are there for a reason.
Darksteel Axe
is low cast cost and Kor Outfitter makes the equip cost nil. The same holds true for Whispersilk Cloak.
So many people dog Emeria, The Sky Ruin, but it did come in handy once in a while. I hated it for first turn, though.
The sideboard was mostly geared for situational games, especially black or red deck enemies. Those colors were pretty common in those days, but anymore not so much. The Accorder's Shield and Argentum Armor were go-to artifacts for when I felt like being super mean. :)
All together, this deck is still fun to play every now and again, and I may try it in legacy.
