Commander: Mayael the Anima

Commander Run Down and Deck Function

Mayael the Anima is a fantastic commander originally from Shards of Alara and printed in the Commander 2013 edition.

Their basic ability is to tap for 6, and search the top 5 cards of your library for a creature power 5 or greater. Choose one and put it on the battlefield.

This allows you to cheat out creatures that have a lot of power, have devastating abilities, and work off of other permanents you have on the battlefield.

The ultimate cheese in the deck is to get enough mana to cast the only non-permanent in the deck, Primal Surge that will put your entire library on the field and kill all of your opponents at the same time. Once they let the spell resolve, it's too late for them to change their mind as Grand Abolisher prevents any response to the triggers besides land abilities, which won't help.

The following will be some of the things to look for, but not all.

Extra Mana or Mana Fixing Bloom Tender Chromatic Lantern Karametra, God of Harvests Mirari's Wake Nyxbloom Ancient Old Gnawbone Regal Behemoth technically: Seedborn Muse Sol Ring Smothering Tithe

Copy Abilities Illusionist's Bracers Rings of Brighthearth

Super Cheese Panharmonicon + Kodama of the East Tree Will allow you to activate Mayael's ability, and then put stuff from your hand onto the battlefield.

This deck is a lot of fun and has the tools to do cool Naya Zoo stuff.
