Maze’s End in Standard… Crazy idea? Probably! But let’s see what we can do.

WHERE ARE WE NOW?

Still very much figuring out the correct path to take with the core colours and approach - but a Golgari land recursion shell seems to give us even more opportunities to win out of nowhere, as well as play powerful creatures like Lumra and mini synergies / combos like Altanak.

With access to less gates overall (11) vs. a format like Pioneer, a graveyard approach also makes us a bit more resilient in the face of land destruction and any mill effects.

DOES IT WORK?

Yeah kinda! Does well against control / grindy decks as Mazes End can operate on its own and cards like Gatekeeper Colossus and Altanak present some free must-deal-with threats for our opponents to focus on. However, the deck crumbles to aggro pretty quickly due to slow mana - but Cut Down and Go Fo The Throat help here.
