Standard 5 color Sliver deck. Most people say you should streamline the slivers, going only 3 colors and that Sliver Hivelord is near unplayable due to his steep mana cost. But after messing around with the Mana base for a couple weeks, I believe I have come to a very good balance. Very rarely have I become mana screwed.
The Bread and Butter of the deck: 4 ofs.
Galerider Sliver is one of your best slivers, being great evasion.
Predatory Sliver is your power, your pump, and just a great sliver all around.
Manaweft Sliver is what fixes your draws, creates combat tricks, and brings out your Sliver Hivelord a lot faster and easier.
The Juicy Steak of the deck: 3 ofs.
Blur Sliver is haste. It is literally so good. It does not stack, and therefor it is put in as a 3 of.
Sentinel Sliver
is what creates combat tricks, post combat tricks, and end of the turn tricks. Stops crack back as well and lets you control the board a lot better.
Sliver Hivelord is your boss, your monster of choice, and terrifying. They have to [[Banishing Light], Banisher Priest, or Detention Sphere this or they basically lose. It is what slivers were missing.
The Refreshing Drink of the deck: 2 ofs.
Bonescythe Sliver
is your double striker. It is strong, but due to mana cost is not more than a 2 of.
Leeching Sliver
is teetering on becoming a 3 of. It basically acts as more Predatory slivers, adding unstoppable damage. Yes I'll attack into your 0/3, lose 1 life please!
Diffusion Sliver has recently been bumped up to 2. I was boarding them in far more often than I would have liked, and have decided that it truly deserves a 2 of spot.
Syphon Sliver is what helps us race other aggro/midrange decks. It refunds us for our
Mana Confluence
, shock lands, and pain lands.
Striking Sliver
is the other one drop. It is strong, great against other aggro. Specially white based. Pairs well with
Venom Sliver
.
Megantic Sliver
is another bomb in the deck, often pushing us over the edge for the win, or helping us clear an entire board, setting us up for the win next swing.
Chord of Calling digs out the slivers we truly need in that moment, as well is a way to play a Sliver Hivelord. 3 is too clunky and 1 is too little to matter.
The Always Important Pickle of the deck: 1 ofs.
Belligerent Sliver
is a nice one of. It helps us when we can't get the Galerider Sliver out or if it has been removed. Not a bad body either.
Venom Sliver
works well with
Striking Sliver
and helps us trade up with Courser of Kruphix, Polukranos, World Eater and many more.
The Side Dish: Side Deck.
1x Back to Nature deals with Constellation and can possibly 2 for one with [[Banishing Light], Courser of Kruphix, and Detention Sphere.
1x Constricting Sliver is in a testing phase. Would most likely come in against a monsters/midrangey variant. Chording for this when they have Obzedat, Ghost Council out is wonderful.
1x Diffusion Sliver against Control matchups, the third definitely makes the cut.
3x Golgari Charm regenerates my slivers after a Board wipe, -1/-1 Elspeth, Sun's Champion Tokens, and destroys whatever enchantment is exiling my slivers.
2x Magma Spray early removal for against other aggro, deals with Voice of Resurgence
2x
Return to the Ranks
is still in testing. we have plenty of 3+ CMC creatures, so this may not be the best. May drop down to a 1 of.
1x Setessan Tactics is interesting. Helps against other aggro decks.
Venom Sliver
Turns it into a field wipe. Also, with [[Sentinel Sliver] and Manaweft Sliver, it turns into a combat trick to give all my slivers +1/+1.
2x Syphon Sliver against Burn, or hyper aggro like Boss Sligh.
2x
Venom Sliver
is being looked into dropping down to 1. Brought in against midrange and monsters as a way to deter blocking.
