For this deck, I chose Varolz, the Scar-Striped as general specifically for his scavenge ability and how it could be applied to the Voltron archetype. Essentially, this deck is about finding creatures and putting them into the graveyard through the use of cards like Buried Alive and Entomb then using the scavenge ability of Varolz, the Scar-Striped targetting himself, all the while using various equipment artifacts to toughen him up so he can go in for the kill using commander damage.

As targets for Entomb and similar spells I've included creatures like Phyrexian Dreadnoughtand Force of Savagery to get the maximum amount of counters for as little mana as possible using Varolz's scavenge ability, which allows for him to get huge ASAP. Many of the equipment we can put on Varolz, the Scar-Striped grant different evasion effects to let him get maximum commander damage (hopefully) before an opponent can develop the means to stop him.

To assist in getting Varolz to his target, I've included various means of removal as well as a lot of ramp to afford the spells and deck manipulation cards to enhance draw and allow me to find what I need when I need it.

This deck was made to be a followup to my ...And That’s Why You Always Leave a Note deck. Currently, I am stuck debating between this and Excuse me, do these effectively hide my thunder? as the deck I want to invest in next. Feel free to check that one out, too.

As with all of my decks, I'm trying to build something here that is as competitive as can be without breaking a $500 budget. As such, I could definitely use assistance as far as perfecting my card base. , and as always +1 if you like this deck.
