So I Heard You Like Mill
This is a combo deck insofar as it uses a combo, it might make you win, likely not, but it might.
Mill is fine in Commander. There are so many ways of just shutting down a mill deck (either of the two legal OG Eldrazi Titans) that it isn't as scary as people think it is.
But lets have a weird combo mill deck because it's fun. Well, fun for the person using it.
What Are We Doing Here
The goal is to cast 44
Persistent Petitioners
in one turn, turn all of them sideways to get 11 mill 12 triggers. Which may or may not insta kill somebody and put the hurt on somebody else. We have ways of doing this multiple times in a turn.
The best way to do this is to cast
Thrumming Stone
and then a few of the Petitioners and start stacking ripple triggers. Petitioners make up 44% of our deck so statistically there shouldn't be a problem getting them all out.
But say we get our Thrumming Stone countered or is shut down somehow. Well that's where infinite mana comes in, as we can cast
Gadwick, the Wizened
to draw our whole deck.
ENTER THE INFINITE Mana
there are a few ways to do this.
1 - 6 Islands +
High Tide
+
Palinchron
2 - 7 Islands +
High Tide
+
Great Whale
+
Capsize
3 -
Basalt Monolith
+
Rings of Brighthearth
4 -
Power Artifact
+
Basalt Monolith
or
Grim Monolith
(use
Gemstone Array
to filter mana)
5 -
Isochron Scepter
>
Dramatic Reversal
+
Basalt Monolith
or
Grim Monolith
or
Gilded Lotus
(will need to filter with
Gemstone Array
for either of the monoliths)
6 -
Grand Architect
+
Pili-Pala
Where Is The Thrumming Stone?
Can't find your stone? That's okay, we can get it.
Tezzeret, Artifice Master
is mostly in here to make flying blockers, but his -9 will let us go find it, however it will come in at end step.
Tezzeret the Seeker
can do it for -5 so he only has to be out for one turn before to do it. We can sacrifice
Inventors' Fair
to dig for it as well, but this would be dumping 9 mana into it.
Whir of Invention
can grab it for 8 mana. Sadly we can't use
Tinker
but we can use
Fabricate
for 8 mana all in.
But mana shouldn't be a problem, we have so many ways to go infinite with it.
But How Do We Win?
Mill them out.
Get all our
Persistent Petitioners
out. Their first ability is limited by summoning sickness, but their second is not. If we get all 44 out, this will mill for 132, in groups of 12. Then, we look back on one of our Infinite Mana Combos,
Dramatic Reversal
under
Isochron Scepter
will also untap all our Petitioners, and we do it as many times as we want.
