Draft deck goes 5-0 SUCK IT! I first-picked a
Ragemonger
over my favorite BoG card ever, Eidolon of Countless Battles, and it worked. I have ALL the lords and the mythic of justification. First draft I ever won.
First round: vs Luc playing blue-white flying-heroics, 2-1
My deck was a bit off. I had my
Fated Return
in, bad choice. But I managed to drop two lords, I think
Kragma Warcaller
and
Rageblood Shaman
, then dropping minis like
Fellhide Brawler
and
Fellhide Minotaur
and swinging for 5. Searing Blood proved awesome, with the amount of weenies in Theros block and all the ways to combo it with a throwaway like a non-ETB
Minotaur Skullcleaver
. That was game one. Game 2 I got a bit mana- and control- screwed, and he blew me up after a just-too-small inital attack. Game 3, I got mad and played a perfect game: T1 land, T2 Deathbellow Raider, T3
Fellhide Minotaur
swing 2, T4 Searing Blood his dude, T5
Underworld Cerberus
. Game. Just stop trying, Luc.
Round 2: vs Brian playing green-splash-blue\ centaurs, 2-0
Game 1 I went tribal on him. Got out
Ragemonger
(which didn't really perform...) and something else, and blew him up like a tempo deck on crack. Game 2 we both had slow hands. He pulled a
Pheres-Band Tromper
on me when I only had an
Opaline Unicorn
, and then I dropped
Underworld Cerberus
. Got
Fearsome Temper
on it and swung in with my one-dog-three-headed army.
Round 3: Max playing Dimir siren-control, 2-1
Game one was easy. I didn't let on that I was playing tribal, so he didn't bounce my lords, so I squeezed out a "coincidental" tribal win. Then he sided MORE bouncers in and beat me by locking down
Underworld Cerberus
, my only card in hand besides
March of the Returned
, and flew over my head. Game 3 was a comprehensive destroy-fest by me.
Round 4: Kristen playing Boros Heroic, 2-0
I don't remember much about this one, but I must've won. I was about to lose game 1, then I drew a lord, replenished my hand with
March of the Returned
, dropped my lord (
Kragma Warcaller
) and some lower-cost ones, swung in for lethal in 2 turns. Game 2 I had (another) perfect game.
Round 5:
Game 1 was close, but I dropped a finisher, Kragma Wacaller or Fluffy the 3-headed dog. I won, but game 2 he stabilized the board, only done by Max before, and swung in over my head. We had started a for-fun game earlier, and I knew he was good. His record wasn't mine, but he went for 3rd aftr Luc, who won all other games. Game 3 I decided that I was gonna win the tournament and dropped ridiculous amounts of minotaurs on him, the after he killed a few dropped in Fanatic of Mogis for the kill. First 5-0 draft ever :D.
So, this deck's not constructed-level, but totally amazing anyway.
