Inspired by this thread and VampireArmy I've thrown together a rough Mardu Midrange deck for the sake of experimentation. I encourage anyone willing to participate in the discussion to click the link provided, above.

A note about comments:

Please provide adequate and well reasoned feedback. If you simply say, "Play X over Y" or do not contribute anything I deem to be meaningful I will simply remove your comment. I believe it to be counter productive to deck building and intellectual discussion to be provided with what is essentially worthless commentary. So long as you provide a reason for your suggestions I will be content. Thank you.

Taking your advice to heart I've tuned the deck to represent what I view as the ideal list. I'm sure both of you have seen VampireArmy's deck He Who Makes a Beast Out of Himself.... My thoughts, vary drastically from his as you can clearly see.

Firstly, I've forgone man lands in favour of 6 basics. This is because of the 2x Blood Moon in the sideboard. I think it's a vital piece of sideboard tech if you're going to take out Abzan, Tron, Titan Bloom and even UWR Midrange.

Secondly, I'm clearly not running Liliana of the Veil and I won't be running Chandra, Pyromaster. While Lily is clearly the most powerful planeswalker next to JTMS I have suspicions that this isn't the deck for her. I will admit that this is probably going to be my biggest error in judgement should it come down to that. Chandra isn't being run because I want to have more of a board presences and a 1x of her seems unnecessary.

Thirdly, 3x Young Pyromancer and 2x Monastery Mentor. If I'm going to run Butcher of the Horde I feel it necessary to be able to generate enough token fodder for it. Also, the tokens can apply pressure when all else fails. I feel I have plenty of triggers for them. I concede Brimaz, King of Oreskos might be better than the Mentor simply for the body.

Hopefully this can give us some insight moving forward and I can begin developing a competent sideboard to work towards. I think it would be interesting to pit VampireArmy's and my own interpretations against each other as I feel both possess their own strengths and weakness.
