Trying to build the ""ultimate"" RBW warriors deck. Thinking it could be better. suggestions appreciated. Willing to use warriors of any edition. Zurgo is a staple because he's cool.

The people i play with have 40+ decks with different playstyles and some of them could be considered competitive, some examples are affinity, grixis, humans, slivers. etc. One of my objectives is to have certain cards available to counter some of these decks.

The explanation for some cards are here:

  • Bloodsoaked Champion: Good one drop, can be brought back when playing aggressively. Possibly great in later turns if we have extra mana after being board wiped. Mardu Woe-Reaper: Another great one drop. May help exiling enemy creatures and healing. Currently thinking about swapping him with Champion of the Parish, who's a soldier, but since the deck has alot of humans he could end up being pretty strong by just existing, If i do this i would have to change the name of the deck to Modern Mardu Fighters or something.

  • Blood-Chin Rager: Gives every warrior menace, can secure the win even if your opponent has lots of creatures/tokens.

  • Chief of the Edge: Buffs almost every other creature. Similar to Honored Crop-Captain

  • Battle Brawler: Will almost always get his full power when necessary. His first strike gives him the edge against most creatures in the first turns. Thinking about swapping him for Honored Crop-Captain just to get more damage and probably get more counters on Champion of the Parish or more tokens with Hero of Precinct One if i do put them on the deck.

  • Goblin Rabblemaster: Warrior that creates goblin tokens and gets more power with them sinergyzes with Mardu ascendancy. Debating if he's better than Mardu Strike Leader who actually creates Warrior tokens that could get stronger with the many effects of the other warriors but feels slower, might actually swap him if i do add Champion of the Parish to the deck.

  • Alesha, Who Smiles at Death: great 3 drop helps bringing back destroyed creatures, glad its effect doesnt target warriors exclusively.

  • Arashin Foremost: To give Double strike to other strong warriors, this card allows great damage in the third turn if combined Chief of the Edge, and also in the later turns if coupled with someone like Zurgo Helmsmasher.

  • Athreos, God of Passage: Not a warrior but he's here mostly as an enchantment, his effect could counter one of the weaknesses of the deck, the boardwipes.

  • Brutal Hordechief: This guy's effect could win the game on turn 5. by making all enemy creatures block one of our tokens or weakest warrior. Unsure how his effect stacks with Blood-Chin Rager.

  • Sorin, Solemn Visitor: His first effect sinergyzes with our attacking focused creatures. Wondering if there's a better planeswalker suited for this kind of deck.

  • Zurgo Helmsmasher: The greatest Warrior of all time IMO. I'll admit this card is not perfect and has weaknessess however he's cool and could also score a win on turn 5, probably becoming stronger if he doesn´t.

Since this is mainly a creature deck, currently the ideal turns go like this:

Things will most likely not go as planned however so we must try to adapt to the situation and most likely depend on the side deck against certain matchups.

Currently thinking about adding the following cards:

  • Hero of Precinct One: One of the newest Warriors in the game, 2 drop that creates HUMAN tokens, needs alot of multicolored spells however and many of the warriors in this deck are monocolored. Wondering if swapping most of my 2 drop monocolored warriors and adding playsets of Honored Crop-Captain and Chief of the Scale would make the deck STRONGER overall. Open to suggestions.

  • Mardu Strike Leader: Explained above, still wondering if he would be overall stronger than Goblin Rabblemaster.

  • Obelisk of Urd: this Artifact could also make almost everyone in this deck more powerful, but it has a high CMC that could be paid by tapping creatures that could've attacked instead, might slow down the deck, although i dont mind going midrange. Im thinking about acquiring it and testing it sometime later. Also wondering what cards could be swapped for this.
