Mono Black Aggro Is Back B*tches!! STD THR KTK (Standard MTG Deck)

Mono Black Aggro is back b*tches!! This is built for the current Dragons of Tarkir meta, and is still very much a work in progress. Taking advantage of Foul-Tongue Shriek rather than Brutal Hordechief for a faster mana curve and response deck.

Also ditching Obelisk of Urd, which is great but too slow as we want our critters to keep turning sideways every turn. Blood-Chin Rager and Mogis's Marauder are in for more evasyunz. May update this to a BW warrior token later on when Battle for Zendikar brings back Marsh Flats.

Am currently putting the physical deck together, but playtests on TappedOut have yielded consistent lethal damage by T5, sometimes as early as T4.

While I didn't really build this deck with budget considerations in mind (more to just re-use what's left of my old deck), you could actually make a pretty cheap variant by substituting Thoughtseize with Duress and Hero's Downfall with Murderous Cut or Ultimate Price. These substitutions would bring the price down to less then USD40.00 easily.

3-2 at Game Day DFK

Took this deck out for a 1st time test run Game Day and came away with a 3-2 win result. Very satisfying for a homebrew! :) When this wins, its overwhelmingly crushing - went 2-0 against different decks:

Jeskai Heroic (thankfully one of the decks I had playtested against). Since this deck lacks removal, we need to make sure we handle the 16 or so critters n watever pump spells that come out. Sideboarded Duress in and the rest was pretty much history.

Abzan aggro: this was strange, played against 3 decks, one of them a Pro Tour Brussels entrant. The PT deck got pretty much steamrolled, but the other 2 decks were a real battle. Both games dragged quite a bit but after 3-4 removals, we would always end up succumbing to a late game Elspeth, Sun's Champion. The sideboards were alright, but I need more dash critters to go around sorcery spees board wipes.

4C Control: This was the last match up, and it was......weird. I had no idea wat the f*ck the guy was trying to, milling his own deck for jeskai ascendency. Had to scratch my head figuring out wat to sideboard. No matter, he got steamrolled.
