With Modern now becomming a FNM format I decided to brew up a rough list for a control deck for modern. Since modern has lots of expensive lands, multi-color control is out and as a result I've turned to mono black. This list was HEAVILY inspired by benwsf's list, so I am not saying this is completely my own. I do, however, expect it to change with playtesting. Sadly, Thoughtseize is outside the realm of my budget to obtain a playset all at once. I do, however, intend on getting a playset, but just don't have the funds to do it at once. Rather I'll have to collect them over time by buying one at a time. However, I don't want to wait that long to play this deck so as of now I'm running the build without thoughtseize with the intention to obtain a playset of thoughtseize over time.

Anyway, as for how the deck works, it's a fairly straightforward control deck. Use your plentiful removal and disruption to control the game and then destroy your opponent with Obliterator and Korlash. The deck runs quite a bit of removal, including 6 board wipes and 2 psudo-board wipes.

Anyway, any thoughts and advice on this deck would be appreciated.
