Ghoulcaller's Bell and Codex Shredder are for a target for phyclatery lich but also serve as a means to guarantee that Vampire Nocturnus will be providing his bonus.

Devour Flesh helps slow down aggro and Doom Blade is overall useful (and ineffective against my deck :-) )

Phylactery Lich is a monster on its own. Vampire Nighthawk is an obvious choice because it is really good and benefits from Vampire Nocturnus.

Bloodline Keeper   because it plays very well with this deck

Gloom Surgeon is a great blocker against aggro because he kills most creatures and due to his effect, lives to tell the tale.

Child of Night is just there as an early drop vampire that will help primarily from lifelink. she gets a lot better when nocturnus comes out, though.
