Mono black pox control, which I'm building casually, but may end up upgrading a few of the cards so I can take it to legacy sanctioned tournaments.

Here's what I can tell you:

This is a ridiculously cruel control deck. There isn't much you can do against it because of its insane ability to deplete your lands and make you discard cards before you can cast them.Cards like Strip Mine, Wasteland, Sinkhole, and Smallpox just evaporate your lands, almost at the rate of one a turn, and it takes 3 more mana to cast anything if I can get out Nether Void. Then I have kill spells like Innocent Blood to eliminate the few creatures which actually do get through. The only creature I do run is Bloodghast, because while i strip the field of any life, this guy comes back whenever i play a land. The original pox control deck seen in legacy ran Nether Spirit, but I find Bloodghast to be a little bit stronger as I can run more than 2 without ruining its effect, and the people i intend to play against will likely have a little more trouble dealing with it than the spirit.

Reasons why I'm running some variants:

Liliana of the Veil - is $90, and that's hella outta my price range.

Wasteland - I'm not running this because it's a casual deck, I have Strip Mine, and Strip Mine is soooo much better when you're playing against casual decks.

The part where I could use some help, or some input:

I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to get my hands on a Crucible of Worlds to meld into the Strip Mine. It's a lot of money, and my friends might RQ, which I'm not really about.

The other big thing is what kill spells to run. I have a lot in my arsenal - Doom Blade, Go for the Throat, Tragic Slip, Dismember, etc. A whole bunch. It's really hard to try to find a good mixture between them, given that most of the decks i'll be playing against are either mono black reanimator, or mono green elves.

Another thing I'm wondering - is it worth it to run cards like Dakmor Salvage, which enter the battlefield tapped, but i can make come back turn and turn again?

Finally, which forced-discard card might I run. Again, there are many options. I could try Thoughtseize, Despise, Duress, or what I'm currently running - Inquisition of Kozilek.

Thanks for reading!
