Mono Black Pox/Prison

This is a mono black prison deck that is commonly referred to as Pox, for it's original namesake card. Ironically, there is only 1 left in it's current reiteration while there is a playset of the newer and better "small" pox. This deck was a total fridge until the introduction of Liliana of the Veil a couple years ago. The deck now runs much smoother and can win a long game much more reliably as opposed to hoping on draws from top decking. I recently picked up my first ever copy of tabernacle, which stretches the mana-base a little too colorless, so i need to acquire a 4th tomb of yawgmoth for the deck. Other than that i have seen really good results with the deck. NOTE: This deck can be played without a tabernacle or a nether void to save some serious $. It will still function well, but it lacks the ability to shut a game down with a single card at times.

As for playing advice goes, Lingering Souls is the #1 card this deck loathes. Surgical Extractions are there to make sure they don't become a problem against decks like esper stoneblade who seem to love running 3 copies. Also, if the meta is prime for it, Night of Soul's Betrayal is a great way to take care of lingering souls, true name nemesis, and top decked delvers.

Any questions of the build feel free to ask!

Due to the overwhelming presence of True Name Nemesis in the new meta, Night of Soul's Betrayal has become a main board staple. It's at this time that I'm considering taking out Nether Spirit and relying more on cursed scroll/rack/mishra's to get the job done because of this addition. Without the entomb package available and now that RUG delver won't be as strong of a showing, it's safe to say that this is a better way to move the deck percentage wise. As always adjust to your meta.

With the addition of Night of Soul's Betrayal, the Darkblast from the sideboard becomes near irrelevant . A cursed totems coming in to take it's place will be a great plan against other items in the current meta, most notably Griselbrand, Grim Lavamancer, Deathrite Shaman, Knight of the Reliquary, Stoneforge Mystic, and Noble Heirarch.
