This is my attempt at a mono-red devotion deck. I know it seems pretty similar to all the others going around, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm mostly concerned about the number of lands I should be running and my sideboard.
The deck is mostly self explanatory, but I have decided to use Scourge of Valkas instead of Stormbreath Dragon because it provides more devotion, can have haste with Hammer of Purphoros, but most importantly, can have a huge amount of trampling, first strike fire breathing damage with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Legion Loyalist.
Sideboard:Mindsparker In for control and white aggro, usually replacing the Hammer of Purphoros. Good against white because it hits when they make their creatures indestructible, and is very good for keeping at bay the pesky Soldier of the Pantheon
Flames of the Firebrand to kill lower toughness creatures and return Chandra's Phoenix to my hand against similar decks to this - works really well against Banisher Priest or Tidebinder Mage
Pithing Needle: mostly for Jace, Architect of Thought, also for Whip of Erebos
Skullcrack against life gain or control, usually replacing either Ash Zealot or Burning-Tree Emissary
Burning Earth for control, over Purphoros, God of the Forge or Scourge of Valkas respectively
I don't really see the value in Chandra, Pyromaster over Purphoros, God of the Forge or Burning Earth as finishers, so I have kept her out, but if someone wants to explain otherwise to me I'm keen for suggestions/reasons.
Any suggestions at all, but particularly on sideboards would be greatly appreciated
