Mono White German / European Highlander

Mono White has always been a contender in European Highlander, although seldomly the best deck choice for any given tournament throughout the years. I believe, though, that recent card printings (manlands like Faceless Haven and Cave of the Frost Dragon, horizonlands, removalspells in portable hole and solitude as well as paladin class and esper sentinel) fit the archeytype well and are well suited to beat the top dog of the format in Ux tempo decks, which have been at the top of the metagame since around 2020. Also, for as long as it may last, Stoneforge Mystic and Relic Seeker can grab Skullclamp and Umezawa's Jitte, which both are a huge boon to many decks, including White Aggro.

So, this is my take on the archetype.

A couple notes:

I am not playing any Planeswalkers (mainly the 3 Gideon variants). Most counterspells are conditional but hit noncreature spells, most removal is red and can hit Planeswalkers (Unholy Heat, Thundering Rebuke as new additions). Also, I am playing 3 cards that make noncreature spells more expensive (Thalia, Guardian of Thraben; Vryn Wingmare; Thorn of Amethyst). All these factors made me wanting to try a built without expensive noncreature spells, hence no Planeswalkers.

I moved away from the 2-drop shadow creatures. With tempo decks being on top and curves lowering in general as well as the general creature power creep, I no longer like creatures that can only play offense.

On an individual card choice I am pondering, I have been asking myself for a while now if it would be reasonable to include Enlightened Tutor in the deck. This card has not been played frequently outside of combo decks because it is inherently card disadvantage. I am now asking myself if Skullclamp and Umezawa's Jitte are ways to make up for the card disadvantage by either giving back cards or by creating board advantage in creature matchups. And also, if Enlightened Tutor for Paladin Class would be exchanging card advantage for mana advantage in blue matchups. I have not yet made up my mind on this.
