Maybeboard

Greetings! My friends have complained that Muldrotha should be about value.....I say Combo. Don't listen to the words of your enemies >:D

The goal of this deck is to control the board until you can combo off, with Muldrotha not being necessary. If by some miracle she does manage to stick around, there is plenty of fun stuff to recur. Too bad yard hate is a thing.

There are two main win conditions. I'll start by listing the ways to protect them
  1. Have Counterspells ready. Arcane Denial , Counterspell , Disallow , Glen Elendra Archmage , Imp's Mischief , Muddle the Mixture , Negate , Siren Stormtamer , and Swan Song are all useful to this end.

  2. Make them unable to counter things in the first place. Autumn's Veil and Conqueror's Flail are fun includes to this end, most of the time just baiting a counterspell is good enough.

  3. Combo off.

3a. You can produce infinite mana with Pemmin's Aura and either Gyre Engineer or Voyaging Satyr and either Simic Growth Chamber for infinite green or Dimir Aqueduct for infinite black. Both of these dorks are also just useful as ramp, and can be justified to the table as such, though my own group no longer believes me when I say that. Use that infinite mana to Torment of Hailfire , or whatever other means you can think of. Redundancy is good, but that's what alternative combos are for.

3b. Laboratory Maniac is such a fun card. Combine him with Tainted Pact (hence the 3 basics and 3 snow lands being our only basics), or with Demonic Consultation for optimal results. In previous iterations I have included Savage Summoning to drop Labby on my turn, after blowing up my library at instant speed on an endstep, because who would counter it then, and then having mana for counterspells on my upkeep when I flash in Labby before drawstep. I removed it because that exact situation happened way too infrequently to justify the card.

Edit: Isochron removed for consistency. toolbox pieces added.

The rest of the deck is basically just ramp as much as you can despite a wack mana base, protect yourself, draw into the combo, and stop shenanigans. I hope you enjoy, feel free to offer recommendations in a similar price range. I know there are stax pieces that could make my job easier, but stax is degenerate.
