hazezon is king of the desert, and has authority over the land. In this case he controls the amount of lands on the battlefield with some tasteful land destruction and sacrifice, with each desert strengthening his own army, or hindering opponents via cards like harmless offering. Most of the deserts kinda suck so they are mainly just value pieces, i.e. the first things to sacrifice to gain value with hazezon or other cards in the deck.
