Sideboard

The Modern Elf list I took to Day 2 of GP Detroit. It earned me my first Pro Point with a 10-4-1 record! This version is vastly superior to the G/W lists flying around due to the incredibly powerful Shaman of the Pack, which combined with Collected Company lets you win games out of nowhere. While the sideboard isn't as powerful without White, Black does give access to anti-board-wipes like Golgari Charm.

Otherwise, you just aggro them out. Aside from Shaman kills, you'll often win with an Overrun from Ezuri, Renegade Leader, but sometimes you'll just bash in until the opponent dies. It's also of note that turn one Heritage Druid with turn two Dwynen's Elite can lead to ridiculous shenanigans that make Affinity blush.

Essence Warden was simply a metagame choice and can be some other one-drop instead.
