So I've always reeeeeeeeally loved Nissa, Steward of Elements and with M19 elves got a lot of Tribal love and I have been able to build something that gives me multiple win conditions and it works out really well over at untap.in so I'd thought to share it with you all!
I know that probably the most contested pick in this deck is Admiral's Orders since not only is it double blue but also not the best counter spell, and I've always loved this card too for aggressive blue decks, which there aren't many of, and it's really nice to be able to whip this out of nowhere. Nothing more satisfying than swinging huge with either your elves or Nissa's -6 with one blue mana source untapped and they think they got you with their Settle the Wreckage or their Vraska's Contempt just to be surprised by a jank counter spell. It has done me really well and I do plan on keeping it. I've really learned to love Skyrider Patrol and not just because its the only natural flyer in the deck, but it allows us to make our big guys like Steel Leaf Champion and Marwyn, the Nurturer permanently stronger with +1/+1 counters (which is super great with Marwyn if we need bigger ramp) but it makes these huge land threats sky threats.
Now I wouuuuld Run Metallic Mimic since the +1/+1 counters have better synergy, but as it stands I only own 2 IRL and while that maaay be enough I'm just not too sure if it is to warrant. Maybe move out some Elvish Clancaller? I am still not sure if Druid of the Cowl is the correct 2 drop slot for the deck, it is fantastic at being a great early blocker, but at the moment I'm not too sure if there are that many other creatures that can fill the slot.
I hope in Ravnica we get more support for the deck, since we will be losing some key cards, but as it stands its really fun and I hope you try it out!
