So, after four years not updating on Tapped Out, I've decided to bring my Horobi list in line with what I'm currently running. Now people can see the current version of the deck and any comments I get will be for what I'm actually playing! Woo!

The deck is called "No Man's Land" because it plays like a description of WWI trench warfare reads. You wait for enemies to appear, and when they do, Horobi is waiting in the metaphorical machine gun nest, turning any effect that targets another creature into a kill spell to gun them down. For the most part, I prefer permanents that Horobi can use more than once to instants or sorceries that sweep the board once and are then gone, but I've made a few exceptions for cards that get around indestructibility, do something else in addition to sweeping creatures, or are simply incredibly efficient. Once everything's been thoroughly mutilated and you've bought some build up time, you finish things with a combination of big, hard to kill creatures and potentially massive X cost spells.

There are lots of high mana cost cards here, but this deck doesn't so much have a mana ramp so much as it has a mana booster rocket ready to carry it straight to the moon. I may lose one or two of my mana boosters, yes. Between Black Market, Doubling Cube, Cabal Coffers, Nirkana Revenant, Crypt Ghast, Magus of the Coffers and Caged Sun, I'm not worried. Sol Ring and Arcane Signet don't even count; they're basically lands.

The deck suffers from a couple of obvious weaknesses. Indestructible creatures and shroud/hexproof are thorns in my side, and as with all monoblack decks, artifact and enchantment removal is scarce. I do have answers for all of the above in the deck, but it's something to be mindful of when deciding which opponent(s) to focus on, since tutors you spend on answers are generally not tutors you spend on winning. The other, obvious weakness is that the deck wrecks creatures but can't do much about spells on the stack, meaning it can't keep up in a cEDH meta. But cEDH is cancer, so I don't really care. (For more on my attitude towards Commander as SRS BSNS, see the uncards I have ready to swap in whenever I feel like buying booster packs midgame.)

Comments, questions, and criticisms are welcome.
