Enchantment (3)

Do you like to bring out THREE 7/7 tokens, ONE 6/6 token, and ONE 2/2 token with flying all for no mana cost, constantly attacking for more and more while your opponent gets sadder and sadder? Thats what I like, hence this deck:

Creakwood Liege - main token builder/creature buffer

Soul Warden - with all those tokens coming out, why not gain life too?

Loxodon Smiter - cheap easy body, definitely getting on the field.

Abzan Charm - beautifully versatile

Abrupt Decay and Maelstrom Pulse - remove all sorts of things that get in your way.

Siege Rhino - Important effect the minute it enters the battlefield. Also, the black and green colors work very well with Creakwood Liege.

Lingering Souls - are you kidding? These are amazing, only 2 because it is mostly buffing green/black in this deck.

Advent of the Wurm - opponent attacks with a 4/4 and you pop this out on instant to make them sad.

Sylvan Caryatid - blocking body and mana tapper.

Kin-Tree Invocation with Creakwood Liege on the field - you're getting an even bigger token than you started with no matter what.

Grove of the Guardian - late game/too much mana finisher

Detailed explanation below:

I have played around with this deck and it is a lot of fun in modern tournaments, there are still some highly specialized combo decks, heavy control, or 5 turn aggro decks that cause some problems, but I have found that Brain Maggot can do wonders against most combos when drawn early - it is especially useful in drawing the ire of opponents, who might even throw a Path of Exile against it, much to their own chagrin. If nothing else Brain Maggot lets you look into their hand while still adding a body to buff Wayfaring Temple.

This deck has some nice options when it comes to removal, or even removal avoidance. Maelstrom Pulse is always fun to play and Abrupt Decay can really help, especially when modern decks splash a dangerous enchantment like Banishing Light or Detention Sphere. The Abzan Charm is so useful because of the options it provides you - exile and card draw being the most important, and you can always cycle in Golgari Charm if you are coming up against weenie token masses.

The overrun this deck is capable of is what makes this really fun. The usual game plan is to get out a Sylvan Caryatid to act as a blocking body, a Soul Warden, or a Loxodon Smiter early in the game to put on some fast pressure and to counteract any early damage that gets through.

This deck can take a while to ramp up, but once it does it's pretty hilarious, especially with a Soul Warden adding life with each token entering and with Sorin, Solemn Visitor life linking your 7/7 tokens. This deck really shines when the game runs long, then Garruk, Primal Hunter can make the board hilarious and Ajani, Mentor of Heroes can make the life total ludicrous.

The constant threat posed by the Grove of the Guardian is also really fun and often overlooked by opponents, especially when Wayfaring Temple gets some damage through and suddenly there are two 8/8 tokens with vigilance on the board. Creakwood Liege is the meanest card in here and is at risk of burn spells until a second one comes out, but once you start adding two 5/5 tokens at every upkeep, plus a 3/3 (5/5 because it is green) coming in from Garruk, Primal Hunter, all of which is gaining you life - it is hard to beat that. Finally, Kin-Tree Invocation plays to the strength of Creekwood liege in that you get to make a copy of a 7/7 token, but that copy is a green and black token, so as soon as it enters the field it gets buffed even more by any Creekwood lieges in play.

It isn't the most complicated deck, and it is not the most elegant deck, but if you like looking at the board and seeing an hilarious amount of tokens guarding your side, this is a fun deck to play. I have kept the lands to lands that I actually own, although putting in some of the more advanced lands is probably going to be beneficial (though the scry is very helpful on this deck).

I would love thoughts and opinions!
