Sideboard

2nd version of my old Of Demons and Dragons deck, which led me to a US$300 cash prize in Day-2 GP Buenos Aires, and unfortunately is going out of Standard.

Sideboard against control decks and fast/monored decks.

Creature breakdown:

All of my creatures fly. The ones which don't, are 'Demon fodder'. Butcher of the Horde gets really powerful by sacrificing a creature. Hangarback Walker is an early threat that can be sacrificed for MORE sacrificial minions. Same for Bloodsoaked Champion, which can be brought back after attackers are declared. Flamewake Phoenix has an amazing synergy here. Sorin, Solemn Visitor also gives a hand with tokens

Spell breakdown:

Crackling Doom is the best removal in standard, no doubt about it. I'd play 11 if I could. 4 Draconic Roar for early removal and possible 'dragon' trigger, just like Foul-Tongue Invocation . Kolaghan's Command is extremely versatile and effective. 1 Murderous Cut to make the most of graveyard.

Land breakdown:

Curve is more Rakdos side, with White only for support (but necessary) spells, With just 1 white mana generator, I'm on my way for the rest of the game, and there are 11 possibilities. Haven of the Spirit Dragon for a free dragon reanimation.

Card Advantage:

By the time I can play an Outpost Siege (turn 4), 95% of the cards than can be exiled with it can be casted, as mana curve is relatively low. Drawing 2 cards per turn is unbelievable...

Finally a good time to play competitive again! With no idea of what decks people are playing, I went to play anyway...

Round #1 0-2 [Bant Company]

There's so little to do when you attack with a 2/2 pony, and your opponent play flash creatures and a CoCo at the end of turn...A good defeat.

Round #2 2-1 [MonoGreen Scales]

This deck has no removal and cannot stop flying creatures. However, 2 ignored Managorger Hydras could have easily taken the match.

Round #3 1-2 [4Colour Rally]

Just like #1, it's amazing all the things this decks can do at the end of turn. Nantuko Husk stroke for 12 dmg and Zulaport Cutthroat draining 5 life...my god...

Round #4 2-1 [Rakdos Dragons]

1st match was Hangarback Walker into Thopter Engineer into Thunderbreak Regent into Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury, unbeatable. But then it went into my favor. Match 3 opp played an Infinite Obliteration and "...say gbye to Regent", and I was like "oh sure, I'll just keep these Butcher of the Horde, Flamewake Phoenix and Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury in hand...they'll be enough...". So they were :)

Round #5 0-2 [Atarka Red]

Faster than me, and Foul-Tongue Invocation did not make an appearance. Too bad...

Round #6 2-1 [Mardu Control]

Screw vs Screw, and creature vs creature. Infinite Obliteration is really hard to overcome, but an Outpost Siege can do the job!

Round #7 0-2 [Monogreen Ramp/Eldrazi]

Opp went with a face-up Rattleclaw Mystic into a turn-3 Hedron Archivefoil into a turn-4 Worldwaker exiling my 3rd land. 2 times. I really wanted to cry...

Regardless of results, it was an amazing and enjoyable time playing competitive Standard :)
