Sideboard

Control the game draw-go style until you can drop a Rise from the Tides, Army of the Damned, and/or Grave Titan to pair with The Scarab God's life drain ability. Alternatively, combo off by bouncing/replaying some combination of Mana Vault/Sol Ring/Mana Crypt/Codex Shredder/Arcum's Astrolabe using the abilities of Tidespout Tyrant or Hullbreaker Horror to mill your opponents out, draw your deck, and/or generate infinite mana to kill with Exsanguinate.

Be prepared to play politics with the table, as you realistically have no way of countering a concerted effort against you (although you'll be countering everything else). It's fun when it works, but this deck mostly exists as a test of player skill, a deck for demonstrating the stack to new players, and a homage to wincon-less control decks in other formats. On that last point, I only recently added win-cons to slightly boost the power-level (and it's waaaay way more fun to solely rely on token copies of your opponents' creatures).

The Scarab God is almost always used as a zombie tribal or reanimator commander, but he's my favorite dimir control commander of the dozen I've tried. Importantly, he is hard to get rid of and stays at 5 CMC, which allows us open mana to protect him on the turn he comes down. You'll always be representing counter-magic, and having an instant-speed mana sink compliments that plan. I mostly treat the first ability as trinket text. If you're interested in dimir control, give him a try!
