Just recently realised that Travis Woo has a very similar decklist on ChannelFireball including Honored Hierarch.

Jeskai Ascendancy Awakening Combo, without the slow awkard Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper.

Took out Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  , cuz i don't feel like being poor. Also took out the Seeker of the Way to fit in the new Wall of Resurgence. This card helps us get our combo out a turn earlier, which is huge. Now we can almost reliably get a 4/4 hasting body with mana up to protect it on turn 4, while also having a huge wall to help with the backfire.

Our new good turn sequence would now be:

Turn 1: Land + one mana play such as Slip through space for card draw or Fiery Impulse if possible

Turn 2: Land + Rattleclaw Mystic. This is the moment where we are most vulnerable.

Turn 3: Land + Wall of Resurgence. We now get a wall, a 3/3 body and we can leave up mana for dispel.

Turn 4: Land + Jeskai Ascendancy + any one or 2 mana spell to get our combo started (Start delving, drawing cards, boosting our creatures and making them unblockable with Slip Through Space.

The addition of Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  , helps us with many aspects. First of all, he helps us loot for the combo pieces and fill up our graveyard. When he flips, he helps us survive till the combo is set but more importantly, he helps us play more cheap instants and sorceries per turn with his -2 ability, giving more prowess triggers and cheaper futur Dig Through Times.

We also took out Noyan Dar, because he felt to slow. Also, we added 2 Whisperer of the Wilds to have more chances of hitting the turn 2 mana dork. Finally a full playset of Seeker of the Way gives us more early board presence, as well as lifelink combined with double prowess triggers when Jeskai Ascendancy is on board. The extra life lowers the impacts of counterattacks, because, most of the time, you want to swing with as many boosted creatures as you can.

The goal is to awaken lands then use them for mana and threats at the same time. After using any of our cheap control spells, such as Clutch of Currents , Rush of Ice or Wild Slash , Jeskai Ascendancy helps us activate the combo this by untapping any Rattleclaw Mystic or awakened land (because it's a creature) tapped for mana, as well as boosting them, looting for more spells to repeat the process and filling up our graveyard for our Dig Through Time.

In an ideal case, with the ascendancy on board, you could continously tap mana dorks and awakened land, playing spells for free for as long as you have the cards in hand. Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper serves as another easy way to awaken lands and create threats.

The best hand would be to play:

Turn1: Green source

Turn 2: 2nd Land + Rattleclaw Mystic

Turn 3: 3rd Land + Jeskai Ascendancy

Turn 4: 4th Land + Clutch of Currents / Rush of Ice awakening a land for 5 mana, Untapping Rattleclaw Mystic and looting for any other 1 mana spell, such as Wild Slash / Clutch of Currents / Rush of Ice , untapping the Rattleclaw Mystic and the awakened land which is now a creature, leaving 2 mana open to play any 2 mana spell like Roast/ Reality Shift /Valorous Stance, depending on the awakened land type (a Mystic Monastery gives you the most options). Jeskai Ascendancy keeps you looting for any other spell to keep your combo going, or to find a Dig Through Time with your now full graveyard, while boosting the hell out of your haste land for decent damage.

Turn 5: 5th Land + Dig Through Time/Anticipate is ideal for refurnishing your hand with cheap spells to repeat the process.
