Standard* Control FNM WU (Azorius)

Sideboard

My U/W control deck.

So basically, most Esper control decks today have 1-3 creatures tops. I even came across a deck once that had none, and relied on Elspeth, Sun's Champion to chump block and maybe ultimate and wipe out. Personally, I think that's really boring. I mean, control is great and all, but why not still attack your opponent?

With this in mind, I created the deck you now see. While it has counter spells and board wipes, it also has a healthy creature presence, along with some much needed draw.

Big hitters: Angel of Serenity : Basically, I use this when I don't want to kill a good creature I have out, but need to stop some stuff my opponent has going on.

Archangel of Thune: This keeps me alive while I wait for the opening I need, and sometimes it makes the opening itself.

Desecration Demon: Turn four flying that throws control off balance and keeps aggro and some midrange under control. What more can you ask for?

Thassa, God of the Sea: Scry and occasionally evasion.

Jace, Architect of Thought and Elspeth, Sun's Champion are pretty self explanatory.

Celetial Flare: Invaluable, catches opponents off guard when they go in for the win or block something small with something big.

Spinx's revelation: draw + life = win condition.

High Priest of Pennance: essentially stops ground attackers and swings with near impunity.

Any advice, criticisms, or +1s would be appreciated.

Updates Add

I've taken out some detain because of the new Theros cards. I've had a few games with it and done really well.
