How can we strike at the heart of our foes? Plague their lands; send blight and decrepit rot to consume the ground on which they stand, for the earth is our source of life. If the earth is destroyed we shall all but destroy ourselves in sickness and filth, rot and plague, in bile and blight. We must conquer this land, and in victory destroy progress and growth. Let nature reclaim these forsaken plains, let sickness and decay grip the roots of ancient forests, let the mountains heart tear itself from the rocks and gravel, boil the seas, and with damnation dry the swamps with impunity. To destroy the land is to destroy life itself, so go destroy, but remember from the ash and loam nature will always reclaim her place on this earth.
Goals of this deck
This deck aims at controlling an opponent through the destruction of lands. The idea behind this strategy is rather simple; without lands you cannot play things. I dont want you to play thing, so Im going to have to take away your land privileges for the day and dont try any funny enchantments like sacred grounds because I will have to destroy them. Trust me, Im ready for all those shenanigans too (or at least I hope I am).
Sorceries
Creeping Mold: this is a very dynamic card, allowing me to target almost anything that could prove to be a problem for this deck. It can remove problem enchantments and artifacts or destroy a land.
Death Cloud: This card is a perfect attrition card, allowing me to devastate an opponent while barely affecting myself (thanks to Life from the Loam). It clears lands and forces opponents to sacrifice creatures in the process. It also clears out their hand.
Languish: This is a placeholder for Damnation, but honestly I think it will prove equally as useful in the long run. Hopefully my opponent will not have enough manna to play any creatures with toughness above four.
Life from the Loam: this is a great card to get our lands back from attrition land destruction cards such as Smallpox and Death Cloud.
Maelstrom Pulse: Perfect for any permanent that is causing trouble on the board.
Mwonvuli Acid-Moss: land destruction that allows me to gain even more of a land advantage over my opponents.
Primal Command: this card is good for life gain and putting a permanent on top of a library, but not much else. Any better suggestions?
Rain of Tears
: pretty self explanatory, land destruction.
Scapeshift: this is a finisher for this deck. Once you have lots of lands, cast Scapeshift sacrificing as many lands as possible, keeping any

Smallpox: same reasoning as Death Cloud.
Enchantments
Pooling Venom
: great source of early damage and a good way to slow an opponent down. Later you can destroy the enchanted land, so thats a plus.
Artifacts
Batterskull: Another finisher, Batterskull allows us to gain life and dish damage. It can also be discarded early game because it can be returned to our hand later in the game.
Instants
Abrupt Decay: Again, this is perfect permanent removal at instant speed. It cant be stopped and has no drawbacks.
Beast Within: allows for instant removal of any permanent, however the drawback is rather costly. If followed by a Smallpox this card is truly powerful.
