Overview

A casual midrange "flying tribal" deck with some elements of control and disruption. This deck is roughly at a 6/10 power level according to the EDH power level scale by /u/emillang1000.

Why Play This Deck?

• You like creatures.
• You like synergy-driven decks.
• You like being a nuisance to your opponents.
• You want to play a midrange deck.

Why NOT Play This Deck?

• You want to play a combo deck.
• You want a deck that's a 7/10 or higher power level.
• You want a deck that's all about its commander.

It's difficult to make this deck's strategy any more powerful since, in the context of EDH, it runs uphill in several ways:

1. Contains no combos
2. Tries to win with combat damage. Usually not commander damage too.
3. Average CMC cannot be lowered much without either dropping too many flyers, thus losing the "flying tribal" identity, or replacing them with low impact flyers not worth playing.

That's not necessarily bad though. This deck is a good deck to lead with if you are playing in a new group and aren't sure what their power level is. It's fair, interacts with other decks without shutting them down completely, and can close out games quickly if the group isn't very interactive and games go long. Basically you won't lose any friends by playing this deck, but you'll still feel like you have to make meaningful decisions.

The deck's primary win conditions are:

1. Accumulated creature damage (aided by cards like Gravitational Shift and Medomai the Ageless)
2. Commander damage
3. Approach of the Second Sun

Because of all the card draw in this deck, Approach of the Second Sun can sometimes be cast on two consecutive turns. However there are no shenanigans with the card here, such as copying it.
