Commander damage and board control. The deck just wants to cast and activate Olivia as many times as possible. Ideally we give her Deathtouch and just kill everything, but without Deathtouch we can take more controlling lines focused on stealing creatures. Lots of equipment to protect Olivia, and spells to deal with threats she can't answer.

Defensive Equipment and Deathtouch enablers should be played conservatively. You usually only want one of each in play, and running out more leaves you open to sweepers. Exceptions are cases where you want both Indestructible and Hexproof / Shroud, or cases were you really need Lifelink and can't get Loxodon Warhammer.

We play a lot of sac outlets to get rid of stuff we've stolen if Olivia is about to die. Worth noting that Kalitas doesn't exile a creature we've stolen if it dies under our control. If you really need something gone forever, use City of Shadows to exile it.

Olivia herself threatens Commander Damage kills fairly quickly. She's also very good at dealing with decks that want to play a small number of high impact creatures, combo's that depend on having specific creatures in play, or decks that are very dependent on having their commander in play. Here's how we deal with everything else.

Artifacts

  • Chaos Warp

  • Nevinyrral's Disk

  • Rakdos Charm

  • Scour from Existence

  • Shattering Pulse

  • Spine of Ish Sah (+ Claws of Gix)

  • Vandalblast

Enchantments

  • Chaos Warp

  • Nevinyrral's Disk

  • Scour from Existence

  • Spine of Ish Sah (+ Claws of Gix)

Graveyard Recursion

  • Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet

  • Scavenger Grounds

  • Withered Wretch

Hexproof / Shroud

  • Arcane Lighthouse

  • Most of the cards under "Tokens / Going Wide."

Problematic Lands (especially Maze's)

  • Chaos Warp

  • Scour from Existence

  • Spine of Ish Sah (+ Claws of Gix)

  • Wasteland

  • Volcanic Offering

Planeswalkers

  • Chaos Warp

  • Hero's Downfall

  • Hour of Devastation

  • Magmaquake

  • Scour from Existence

  • Spine of Ish Sah (+ Claws of Gix

Spell Combos

  • Dualcaster Mage

  • Pyroblast

  • Red Elemental Blast

Tokens / Going Wide

  • Blasphemous Act

  • Damnation

  • Hour of Devastation

  • Massacre Wurm

  • Nevinyrral's Disk

  • Pestilence

  • Pyrohemia

  • Magmaquake

  • Rakdos Charm (also kills Kiki Combos)

  • Toxic Deluge

Spell based combo's are the hardest, we just don't have a lot of tools to interact with them in these colors without going full stax. Mass Enchantments and mass Artifacts are also difficult - we can deal with 1-2 difficult ones, but these archetypes can overwhelm our spot removal. Super Friends is also annoying, since many walkers have abilities to lock down a single threatening creature, and every attack step we spend killing a walker is one we're not killing our opponent.

Badlands, Cavern of Souls, and Leyline of the Void are the obvious money upgrades right now. Vampiric Tutor would be decent. I don't want Blackcleave Cliffs, but Graven Cairns would be good. Chains of Mephistopheles would also be strong, since we don't draw that many cards.
