Prologue

"Does Palinchron resolve?" asks one of my friends, as we all stare at him, heads down and muttering some form of yes. "Cool, go infinite, and yeah. I win." This was the third time he went off tonight alone. Last week it was my other friend with turn 3 Maelstrom Wanderer every game, and the week before it was another entwining his Tooth and Nail for the kill. I tried, I really did. I went with Rafiq of the Many and tried to voltron my way to victory, always met with well timed removal. Then came Derevi, Empyrial Tactician and all of her tap dancing, all to a crowd that didn't care, just comboe'd. After that I built Sedris, the Traitor King hoping to play on their lack of graveyard hate. It worked. Once. After that I switched to my beloved Ruric Thar, the Unbowed and got to Primal Surge out my whole deck. That went well for a while, but Humility was soon acquired. Omnath, Locus of Mana was next and met with much hate and a fair amount of tucking (before the rules change, of course).

Finally I got fed up with it and locked myself up in my EDH Design Lab (room) and created a monster. A monster that had an answer to every combo they ran. That could end the game out of nowhere. That could say no at exactly the right times. I built Oloro, Ageless Ascetic not just out of love of the Esper colors, but out of hate of all their unfair spells resolving unanswered. It was finally time for control to take this meta like so many metas before it.

If you're still reading this then you are a lot like me. Somebody who wants to roll with the big boys. This deck can do it, and actually take the driver's seat in most games.

A word of warning before you try to make something similar, don't use this type of deck just anywhere. This deck is meant to be played in a very competitive environment where every deck has at least one infinite combo. It does not play nice with newer or more casual players. If your meta is similar to mine though, please keep tabs on this deck as I plan on having a full guide up soon.

Also, to anybody who might have suggestions, they are very much welcome and appreciated, but please keep in mind the style of the deck and the decks I plan on using this against. Thank you for reading and I hope this list inspires and helps you!
