Omnath, Locus of Free Lightning Bolts

Commander / EDH Aggro Burn Ramp RG (Gruul)

razenas

EDH Omnath:

Ramp for lands

Get Omnath out

Build up elemental tokens for protection and swing with them to keep aggro on the opponents. If they get killed you get a free lightning bolt so no reason to not swing with them unless you need blockers (also great to chump block fatties with to get more free lightning bolts)

Try to last until you can get Perilous Forays or Where Ancients Tread out

Effectively lightning bolt everyone to the face for free until you win

Best combo to get out is Perilous Forays + Where Ancients Tread + Amulet of Vigor. You get to burn out all of the basic lands in the deck in 1 turn and deal 3+5 damage until you run out. Bonus points for Zendikar's Roil being on the field to let you sac the 2/2 elementals instead of 5/5s, meaning you get to swing with a huge army of 5/5 elementals the next turn if you can't wipe the field with bolts.

A great way to ramp for land (although at the expense of less basics in the library for Perilous Forays is to play an card:Explosive Vegatation, then Greenwarden of Murasa to get it back, grab E.V. from the graveyard to play again, then card:Life's Sacrifice the greenwarden for an awesome 5 cards and exile it to get E.V. back and play it for a third time. (Bonus points if you sac it while Omnath is out for a free lightning bolt) Currently no truly infinite win cons, but multiple options to aggro as long as the land keeps flowin' and big creatures on the field.

This Deck kind of happened on accident as my first commander deck because it was cards I mostly already owned. I had only been playing MTG for about a month prior to this deck, and bought myself a BFZ box of boosters to get myself started in owning cards. I'm surprised at how well this deck plays considering its valued at about $50. Super budget and super effective. Sadly gets shut down a bit by control decks, but what deck doesn't?

Aquireboard has some awesome cards that would make this deck even more effective, but Crucible of Worlds is definitely not $70 i'm willing to spend on this deck, and the rest are maybe $20 total. Just a matter of finding them.
