My Ideas
Mainboard
This deck is intended to be Post Theros rotation aggro with Angel of Thune as a late game closer if the game gets that far. It should be nearly impossible to not be able to not play a creature turns one through three. Essentially you want to throw creatures down and attack.
Path of Bravery in theory, works well with a deck that's designed to keep attacking, the life gain is more incidental until Thune is out. Until then you basically want the +1/+1 bonus as long as you can. Though you wouldn't typically play it till turn 4 if you are curving properly.
Rakdos Cackler
always comes out unleashed and would get priority turn one over
Boros Elite
. Having Imposing Sovereign turn two gives you at least one turn of resistless attack and gives you such an advantage going forward. Both
Boros Elite
and
Frontline Medic
's battalion effects are terrific for aggro in general but also encourage you to attack and retain your Bravery Boost.
Archangel of Thune hitting the field unanswered is essentially a game winner by itself. If you have Path of Bravery out, the two combo ridiculously. You get +1/+1 's every time you attack and even more if you are attacking with Thune or Paladin.
Sideboard
Considering I won't quite know what the meta will be so I am basically just siding against aggro and control. Once Theros comes along both the sideboard and mainboard will need adjusting I'm sure.
Sin Collector is against control so I can remove any threatening spells. Lifebane Zombie will help against beefy green and white creatures.
Immortal Servitude
would be for games I know will go long, after a late game board wipe I get everything back and more. Banisher Priests will be boarded in to replace
Fiendslayer Paladin
if I need exile type removal (answer to voice).
Thrill-Kill Assassin
would replace the
Daring Skyjek
's in matchups with Red or Black removal. Thrill comes in as a 2/3 so he is resistant to shock and can't be doombladed, plus the added benefit of deathtouch, its more likely you'll push through or trade with a bigger creature either way it is in your favor.
Input
I'm not sure about the mana base but I will test it. Essentially half the lands are black sources which I would think would be reliable enough to play Cackler turn 1. There isn't much black mainboard so at first glance it may be overkill, but with any sideboarding the demand for black will increase. Any suggestions on the mana base would be greatly appreciated.
Any suggestions at all for this deck are welcomed, I want to work on this so by the time Theros comes out I will be ready to give it a shot. The decklist will definitely change once we start seeing what Theros has to offer.
