This is an attempt at creating a competitive Mono Black deck around Ayara, First of Locthwain, with a twist: playing it with Paradox Engine. I know it is banned, but it's a theme deck to be played in a specific pod with other decks playing PE as well.

This is a Work in Progress made for the SplicSecond 2K subs video, but the combinations of cards are endless, even without Paradox Engine. You might find weird a card like Graveshifter being in the list, but so far, I was lacking a good number of zombies in order to have the possibility to cast Gravecrawler from the Graveyard, as it is one of the easiest combos to pull out with some cards as you can see below.

I expect WOTC to print some more good cards in order to improve this list even without PE, taking out some sub-optimal rocks and adding different lines to combo easier and faster with ETBs and LTBs.

Combo Lines

Phyrexian Altar lines

• Phyrexian Altar + random creature + Desecrated Tomb + Nether Traitor in GY = infinite black mana and ETB+LTB triggers
• Phyrexian Altar + zombie + Gravecrawler = you can get infinite ETB and LTB triggers. With this you can add several other cards for an outlet. Ayara, First of Locthwain/Blood Artist/Zulaport Cutthroat for infinite damage. Pitiless Plunderer for infinite treasures. Grim Haruspex for infinite draws. Desecrated Tomb for infinite bats, that can be saced for mana too. Bitter Ordeal for exiling opponents libraries.

Paradox Engine lines

With paradox engine you are required some pieces that you can put together on the early turns of the game

• Ayara, First of Locthwain + Paradox Engine + mana rocks able to produce you can loop creatures like Golgari Thug and Pit Keeper (having 3 other creatures in GY) = drawing your deck and pinging everyone
• Ayara, First of Locthwain + Paradox Engine + mana rocks able to produce you can loop Gutterbones = netting infinite black mana, drawing your deck and pinging everyone
• Ayara, First of Locthwain + Paradox Engine + mana rocks able to produce you can loop creatures like Cadaver Imp and Dutiful Attendant = drawing your deck and pinging everyone
