This was an attempt to make a decent Bug midrange/control after the announcement of the wedge themes in khans of tarkir at sdcc this past weekend. new sultai cards will be added when necessary.
deck breakdown
Creatures
-
Prognostic Sphinx
: the scry 3 helps find what i need and it is easy to protect. can't be killed by elspeth and provides flying defense and offense
-
Reaper of the Wilds
: can be protected, gain deathtouch, and gives me boosts when a creature dies. all with an above cost toughness.
-Sylvan Caryatid: blocks, ramps, has hexproof. solid creature that i can trust to stick around
-Chasm Skulker: a little guy that can quickly become huge with only a couple turns or one Jace's Ingenuity. plus, worst case scenario, you can get multiple chump blocks from it
Planeswalkers
-Jace, the Living Guildpact: +1 digs for cards, -3 removes threats, and -8 draws me cards while forcing the opponent into top deck mode
-Kiora, the Crashing Wave: +1 protects me, -1 draws me cards and ramps, -5 very nearly ends the game
-Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver: helps steal creatures from exile, providing card advantage
-Garruk, Apex Predator: with all the ramp, he isn't hard to get out and if he isn't dealt with, he can win games easily
Other Spells
-Bile Blight: dodges indestructible, kills things and can kill more than one thing sometimes
-Hero's Downfall: great all around removal spell
-Read the Bones: helps me draw cards while controlling what they are
-Drown in Sorrow: can kill multiple threats without really threatening much on my side. helps amazingly against aggro decks
-Jace's Ingenuity: works as efficient card draw in a deck with plenty of lands cast it
