READ THE DESCRIPTION FIRST!

I have been a pauper player so far because I didn't want to waste too much money on magic. But sometimes I felt that some decks just need some uncommons or rares to be complete. So I started thinking about a format where you have restricted number of uncommons/rares/mythics. Maybe there is already a thing like this, but this is my idea: a deck can have at most 40 points. Commons cost 0 points, uncommons cost 2, rares cost 4 points and mythics cost 5 points. You may have for example 52 commons and 2 playsets of mythics, or 10 uncommons and 5 rares. My deck has 4 mythics and 5 rares. People will not waste points for things like shocklands or fetchlands, which are usually most expensive part of deck. Do you think it may work?

Thanks everyone for interest and suggestions. I didn't think that so many people will like it. "Penance" is OK and I think it may be the new name of format. I agree that when card has reprints with different rarities, we use the latest (except special editions like FtV). I'm not sure about point value changes. Maybe make both rares and mythics cost 5 points?
